Performing for People

I have wanted to sing for parties and all other places that singers are needed as far back as i can remember.

I am 73 years old now and can not believe that there is no way for me to stand on a stage,  and sing to the world with my voice ringing out and filling the performance area with a sound that will please anyone who hears it.

When i was in what is now called elementary school the teacher’s name was Willie Morrision, and we called her Mrs Morrision (Our elementary school was out in the country, about five miles from any town and grades one to six were taught in the same room at the same times.) there was a girl that would get up and sing on the stage that the teacher taught from and i really did envy her because she could do that, Her name was Shirley Fay Benderman, her Cousin would sing with her at times and her name was Dale Benderman.

I wanted to get up on that stage and sing as loud as i could, don’t remember if i was ever asked to or not but i never did it.

Remember playing in the back yard with someone (This was in the 1940′s and it was Ronald Crews or Cleveland Dugger) and we were talking about music, and i wrote and sung a song and did not stop until it was finished, all in my head (Don’t remember the song, Most likely was off the wall stuff )

Remember changing schools and going to Mount Pleasant Elementary School in Mount Pleasant Tennessee to complete the Sixth Grade, then on to Mount Pleasant High School for the Seventh Grade.

Had some very bad dealings with the Staff and dropped out of high School i could not adapt to the difference in the schools or something.

Life from that until now has been kind of a blur, a lot of  Work, a lot of Disapointments.

Audition Pass for the voice

I signed up to Audition for The Voice and got to go to Chicago for the Audition, and did get to go in front of the Producer, Waited in line from 4:15 in the AM until about 7:00 AM when they let us in the building at navy pier and then waited in line after line until about 10:00 AM, they called 10 of us into a room to Audition and i was Number One, was so up tight i could not sing, waited until the other nine was through and wanted so bad to ask for another chance but did not and left.

All i could think of after i left there was shame on me, i had this great chance right in my hands and dropped it, am i bitter? No! this was my fault for not controlling my situation at the time.

Will i give up?     No!!!!

I still believe i can sing and will push on through the darkness until i can see the light at the end of the song.
